Dear IFAD and GD Jan cohort,

Please read the following information re: the progression trip to Epsom this Wednesday.

  • In Epsom you will all benefit from working on your task with Tom Lynch, Sessional Lecturer, BA (Hons).
  • The workshop is Graphic Design: New Media Image Making Machines workshop
  • YOU NEED TO BRING
    • battery powered things like electric toothbrushes, handheld fans, cordless drills or screwdrivers, etc...  (*unwanted items as they will become part of the project).
    • like brushes, and paint, pens, pencils, etc... and some cash to buy extra materials from the art shop, although the majority of this will be available from the 'art box' we provide.
  • The workshop will be in Room 215 from 10:30-16:00 on Wednesday 19th February 2014.
  • Tom will brief you all, then introduce you to the concept, then divide you into groups of 3-5 to work on drawing machines.
  • Lunch will be 13:00-14:00, then in the afternoon each group will finish working with the  machine, and present their outcomes in a group critique. (Please note, as discussed today, think back to how well you contributed when critiquing with Rob during the 'Spaghetti Tower' task in Canterbury - if you felt you could have participated much more, then give yourself the task of speaking up on Wednesday)!

I will be departing with you at 09.00am from Farnham in the usual pick-up spot. Tomasz will be meeting us at Epsom.

Best wishes,
Sam
